Although it’s beautiful year-round in the North County San Diego area, there’s no denying that Spring is when it really starts to hit its prime. With temperatures approaching 70, it is no surprise that there is an endless list of outdoor activities and events to enjoy across the area. We’ve rounded up just a few of the amazing community events taking place this May in San Diego and surrounding areas that you won’t want to miss.
Live at the Lake: Totally 80’s
Throw on your acid washed denim or spandex leotard and come have a blast from the past with this first of three Live at the Lake concert series, featuring the band Totally 80’s. It is guaranteed to be a fun time with a group of friends or rocking out with the whole family. Be sure to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating and some money for food and drinks. Tickets are $35/person for one concert or $80 for the entire concert series.
Junior League of San Diego Food & Wine Festival 2019
It’s always a win-win when you can have a good time while also supporting a good cause. That’s exactly what you’ll be doing by attending The Junior League of San Diego’s (JLSD) annual Food & Wine Festival in La Jolla Cove. The festival will feature unlimited tastings from some of the best restaurants, breweries, wineries and distilleries in San Diego. While you’re relishing in a mix of food and drink offerings, you can also enjoy live music or bid on items at the silent auction. What’s even better is that all funds raised at the festival go to support JLSD’s mission-based community projects and commitment to train women to be effective leaders in the community. Buy your General Admission tickets for $85 until May 10.
Dive-In Movie Night at Cape Rey Carlsbad
Is there any better way to enjoy a movie than by a resort-style pool? We think not. Treat the kids (and adults!) to an evening that they will love, starting with a dip in the water, followed by a poolside showing of the recently released Mary Poppins Returns. While viewing the show, snack on complimentary popcorn or order something from the resort poolside menu. What’s even better is this event is free! Doors open at 6:00 pm and the movie starts at sundown, so be sure to RSVP to reserve your spot!
These are just a handful of the numerous fun outdoor activities and events that North San Diego County offers throughout the beautiful Spring months.
