Named after their Baja rescue dog, Mia’s draws inspiration from San José del Cabo, combining fresh seafood with Mediterranean influences. The menu features ceviche, crudo, fire-roasted meats, and whole-roasted fish, all prepared without seed oils and using organic meats and produce whenever possible.
The bar program deserves attention too, offering an extensive selection of tequila and mezcal, spirits from Catalina Rum Company, local craft beer, and a thoughtfully curated wine list. If it’s your first visit, the oysters and ceviche are easy recommendations.

The newest addition to the list and one many locals have been waiting for. Vale Bodega is the sister concept to Valentina, the popular Spanish-Mediterranean restaurant in Leucadia, created by Mario and Morgan Guerra and The Leucadia Co.
After several delays, the intimate Cedros location is finally open and welcoming guests. The menu centers around traditional Spanish tapas, a raw bar featuring oysters and gambas al ajillo, and a carefully selected wine program. Guests can also purchase retail wines and imported tinned seafood to enjoy at home.
Executive chef Benjamin Lara, formerly of Campfire in Carlsbad, brings impressive experience to the kitchen. With seating for just over 20 guests, reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends.
Looking Just Ahead
One additional opening worth watching is Colosseo, an Italian-inspired restaurant from owner Roberto Ciacciofera. The restaurant is taking over the former Pizza Nova location at 945 Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Loma Santa Fe Plaza and plans to serve a mix of classic Italian favorites and elevated dishes. An official opening date has not yet been announced.
Beyond that, Cedros Design District continues to attract new food and beverage concepts alongside its galleries, boutiques, and local businesses, making it one of the most active dining corridors in North County.
